The Dubai 2040 Master plan launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum aims to make Dubai the best city to live in by the year 2040!

Major Highlights of Dubai 2040 Master Plan
Make Dubai Bigger
The primary objective of Dubai 2040 is to carryout huge expansion plans which will include:
- Transferring around 60% of the city area to natural reserves
- Expand public beaches by a whopping 400%
This is being done to usher in a new era that emphasizes sustainability and environmental protection.
Reconstruct Existing Urban Areas
Another objective of the plan is to reconstruct prominent urban areas like:
- Bur Dubai
- Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR)
- Deira
- Dubai Marina and other areas
Why is this being done?
According to planners, more than 50% of Dubai’s inhabitants should live close to the nearest public transportation options.
Planners are also suggesting undertaking exhaustive infrastructure improvements and renovation of the city centre as well.
The Hatta Development Concept
The Dubai 2040 Master Plan also aims to rebuild a variety of heritage sites over the years. Why?

In addition to the Hatta Concept, the plan also suggests the creation of new Urban Centers like Dubai Silicon Oasis and Dubai Expo Centers.

Planners are also setting aside 25% of the land for health and educational institutions. The Seventh Major Development Plan since 1960
Dubai 2040 will be the 7th major redevelopment plan that is being undertaken since the redevelopments plans started in 1960.
